András Veres diocesan blessed also the EYOF-Flame
The EYOF Torch-run arrived on Monday into Győr to go through the city parts and propagate the mentality of the European Youth Olympic Festival. Today the city centre was on the line, tomorrow Révfalu follows.
Dávid Fekete and Tivadar Somogyi deputy mayors, autonomous representatives of the city part waited in front of the City Hall for the EYOF-Torch, then took it to get it started through the city centre, where many people waited to hold one of the symbols of the European Youth Olympic Festival taking place between the 23th and 29th of July in their hands. The torch had already toured the whole country; sport-friends could meet it around Győr too.
The two deputy mayors accompanied the flame on Győr Bike from the City Hall to the Pope John Paul II. Square, where at 3:00 p.m. the students of the Ottokár Prohászka Ursulines Grammar, Elementary and Nursery School welcomed and took to run with it in the Batthyány Park. Here the Bisinger pupils prepared gladly for the big event, since they could also run a circle with the EYOF-Flame. After this the program in the city centre continued, where the Prohászka students helped: they accompanied the flame through the path naturally Hugoo joined them.
They hit the Sándor Lukács street, the Ferenc Liszt street, the Széchenyi Square, the Stelczer street, the Dunakapu Square, the Káptalan Hill, where András Veres diocesan welcomed the little delegation. It was a special moment in Győr in the waiting for the EYOF, that András Veres blessed the flame, ensuring the whole event about his support. Several photos were made together, then the EYOF-Flame was taken by Rudolf Pásztor, leader of the EYOF-Volunteers to go with the volunteers towards Bécsi kapu (Vienna Gate) Square. They hit the Aradi Vértanúk Street and came back to the starting point, to the City Hall of Győr.
